Ace Tanke . . . IWCW through AFW.
Ace Tanke - NWC and beyond.

Ace Tanke

Standing near seven feet tall, and weighing in usually between 340 and 350, Ace Tanke has won the NWICW World title, the NWCW Master's and Tappen Zee tag team champion, and the CAL World tag team title in his career.  He started ewrestling as a part of Mike D's IWCW, leading his own small clique of family and friends.  His nephew, "Wise Ass" Wilde Tanke and niece, "Wildfire" Rebecca Tanke, joined their friends, "Gymnastic" Shelly Hollins Jeff Duane, and a handful of others to start rocking the house.

Information on Ace has been broken down into two segments: The past, and his NWC era.  Almost never active, he did not taken a match in NWC, although he did serve as Vice President to NWC Las Vegas region Sin City Championship Wrestling.

He's used a variety of finishers over the years in ewrestling, as well as the play by mail Imaginary Wrestling Alliance, which is not acknowledged in my ewrestling continuity, due to the fact that, compared to Ewrestling, IWA is a very embarrassing joke. (Nothing against those who play in IWA)  Comparing their one sentence "hour long matches" and 45 cards a month to ewrestling would make them look far, far bigger than I'm prepared to make them out.

Regardless, Ace highlighted my relatively unsuccessful IWA (play by snail mail) career when he won the tv title in the Hot Streak League.

IWCW.  The start of my ewrestling adventures.  Ace Tanke was of course my big gun, since it was a federation where wins and loses were decided by TNM.

I'll include his time in a was with another ewrestling federation, the Association of Fantasy Wrestlers, here, in addition to New Wave International Championship Wrestling, and of course, Mike D's version of IWCW, presidented by Stan Grubb.

Keep in mind it was a simple federation.  TNM log made up the cards back then, roleplaying, done a few times a week by email, was much shorter than say, CAL.  Real wrestlers, in addition to original wrestlers, were allowed.

Ace Tanke went through the Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair characters in the first two rounds of the world title tournament.  The finals ended up being a three way match, also featuring Security, then of the "New World Order," and Sting.  Ace was the first to go down.  Sting was next, with Security winning it.

Ace's feud with Security enabled him a number of title opportunities over the next few months, but he was never able to defeat Security.  Several other wrestlers also fell short in their attempt to beat Security, who often looked unbeatable (especially in TNN sim).

When the IWCW split into IWCW (soon after renamed NWICW [short for New Wave International Championship Wrestling] in a merger with New Wave Wrestling) and NAWA, Ace managed to compete in both.

NWICW briefly folded, and NAWA went on to a short lived feud with the AFW, federation verses federation.  The highlight of the feud was the night where Ace Tanke and his partner, the Dungeon of Doom's Giant, won the NAWA US tag team championship.

I'll continue this on another page, since it'll probably end up taking quite some time and space to compile..  I'll occasionally add an old Ace match, or role-play, or what not to this page.  If so, this would be the spot to find out about it.

This is now.

Trying to get Ace active has been an off and on idea for a while.  It didn't take off very fast, either through federations closing or me being unable to follow anything up.

Along the way, I've taken a few matches outside NWC, of which I remember very few. :)  Some were in BARN.  Burmington, Alabama, Rastl'N.  I'll post them if I find them.

Ace's modern history is just now opening.  Since this page is so new, I've a great deal to add to it, as well.  He's won the NWCW Master's title already, and failed to win the NWC Affiliate tag team titles at the NWC pay per view.  Not long after, NWC Affiliates split from NWC, and renamed itself the CAL - Coalition of Affiliated Leagues.

Currently, Ace Tanke is CAL World tag team champions!  He was offered a chance by his nephew, "Wise Ass" Wilde Tanke.  They went on to win, and as of this update, have had a successful defense in the IWA, even though they lost by disqualification.

They finally dropped the titles in a close battle with the Risky Bizness Boys of Capitol City Wrestling.  Ace has continued to be semi active, and lost a tag team match pitting him and Nate Dunkle against Cash Money. Ace rounded off the end of his NWCW II career with a tag team match pitting him and Wilde Tanke against Dunkle Moving and Storage, in what turned out to effectivly be the end of the Dunkle's active wrestling careers. D M and S managed to pull off a tight win over the Tankes.
Ace slipped back into his role as a secondary figure in my stories at that point.  I detail some older updates below.

2:23 AM 6/10/2003   -   Ace's shown his face again in BWWa, so expect a link to some of his apperances once I compile them.
12:14 PM 6/27/2004- Still no updates, other than a few updates to Ace's site, and the face he's now running around with lifelong Canadian and former NWCW Commisioner, Canadian Gordy McKenzie (of Canada).
